Living and Dying tells the compelling story of love that is tested by tragic life events. Thirty-four-year-old Savannah Harris is a beautiful five foot eight brunette with waist-length hair and bedroom eyes that have most men fantasizing about what she is like in bed. Dylan is a tall, muscular man with dark hair and sky blue eyes that could melt any woman’s heart. The romance first begins when Dylan answers a community wall posting for a roommate and Savannah reluctantly agrees to let him move into her condo. The pair are instantly attracted to one another but Dylan is involved with a long time girlfriend and Savannah doesn’t want to complicate their living arrangements. The two fight their attraction at first but soon they find themselves unable to resist each other. The relationship is consummated in a whirlwind of fiery passion that will leave the reader breathless and yearning for more.

The novel continues on through Savannah’s life and brings the reader to the present moment where Savannah finds out she is dying from ovarian cancer. She refuses to let the disease take over her life so she makes the difficult decision to keep her illness from her family. Savannah intends to keep her family in the dark about her illness until the end of her days but an unexpected pregnancy brings everything to full circle. Dylan learns of Savannah’s secret and forces her to fight for her life.

Savannah winds up beating the initial cancer but later finds out that the cancer has spread to other vital organs. Savannah considers herself to be a strong woman who has endured many of life’s hardships but the realization that she’s going to die is almost too much for her to handle. She puts up a strong front for her family but inside her heart is in turmoil. She has to find a way to accept what is happening to her so that her family can accept it too. Savannah lives out the remaining days of her life living for each moment. She struggles to find peace within her soul and in the end she finds that peace just before she closes her eyes forever.
